Amenorrhea means absence of menstruation.there are two type of amenorrhea.primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea.
PRIMARY AMENORRHEA
The first period of female in her life is called menarche.and the normal age of menarche is 8 to 16 of the female.and if due to any cause the menarche will be late and the female will not get her first period then that is called primary amenorrhea.
CAUSE OF PRIMARY AMENORRHEA
1-HORMONAL IMBALANCE – follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone are responsible for menstruation.and if this hormone will not produce or produce smaller quantity from pituitary gland then there is a chance of primary amenorrhea. And delay in menarche.
2-ABSENCE OF UTERUS- uterus is the internal reproductive organ of female.and if this uterus not present inside the body of female.and the women suffering from amenorrhea then that is called primary amenorrhea.
SECONDARY AMENORRHEA
If a women having regular menstruation period but due to any cause that lady will suffer from amenorrhea then that is called secondary amenorrhea
CAUSE OF SECONDARY AMENORRHEA
HORMONAL IMBALANCE-FSH,(follicle-stimulating hormone), LH(luteinizing hormone), estrogen, progesterone hormone is responsible for menses.if any imbalances occur in this hormone then there is a chance of secondary amenorrhea.
INFECTION OF UTERUS-if female having an infection in her uterus and she is suffering from amenorrhea in between her regular period that is called secondary amenorrhea.
DIGNOSIS
1 – sonography.
2-thyroid hormone test
3-TSH, LH, ESTROGEN, PROGESTERONE hormone test.
TREATMENT
Treatment according to conditions and disease of women, medicine and surgery required.
