NIPPLE

  • It is cone shaped prominence present in the centre of the breast.areola is present around the nipple.
  • It is present in fourth intercoastal space.
  • The nipple contain smooth muscle fibres and nerve supply.
  • 15 to 20 lactiferous ducts opens at the nipple through which the baby suck the breast milk.
  • When the newburn baby sucking the nipple. stimulations occur and there is release prolactin hermone which stimulates milk production.
  • INVERTED NIPPLE
  • It is a condition in which the nipple of the female pointing inward of the breast instead projecting outward
  • The newburn baby can\’t suck properly breast milk.
  • There is no need to treat inverted nipples.but there is some procedure to draw out the nipple.
