SUTURES OF FOETAL SKULL

Foetal skull contain, parietal. bone,frontal bone, occipital bone and temporal bone and these bone are connected each other by sutures and these sutures permit mobility between these cranial bones.

FOLLOWING ARE THE SUTURES OF FETAL SKULL

1-FRONTAL SUTURES

Frontal bone situated in front of the foetal skull and the two frontal bone connected by a suture is called frontal suture.

2-CORONAL SUTURE

Two coronal suture present which separate frontal bone and parietal bone.

3-SAGITTAL SUTURE

Sagittal suture started from the anterior fontanelle and end with posterior fontanelle and it is a joint between the two parietal bone.

4-SQUAMOUS SUTURE

It is a suture line which connects the parietal and temporal bone.

5-LAMBDOIDAL SUTURE

It is present posterior portion of the fetal skull. and it is the suture which connects the parietal bone and occipital bone.
